Sake has two different effects depending on which water bottle is used. Awkward potions make Sake with the blindness II effect for 45 seconds. Water bottles will make Sake with the Nausea II effect for 20 seconds.
Sake doesn't belong to any collection, but because of the materials needed to craft Sake and the strong association with Lamy, it can be considered part of the Lamy Collection. Due to Sake not belonging to a collection, it does not have a prerequisite to unlock it's recipe. Sake has a fairly cheap cost to make requiring:
Sake once brewed, cannot be brewed again with modifiers like redstone or glowstone dust preventing it from becoming longer or stronger.
Trying to make splash potions with Sake creates ‘Splash Uncraftable Potions' and using one will throw the potion but will not slash any effect, effectively wasting the Sake.
It's by extension impossible to make lingering potions with Sake.
Blindness II Sake makes for a better alternative compared to blindness suspicious stews, this is because it provides a much longer duration of blindness and doesn't require hunger to consume.
Nausea II Sake is a possible alternative for the ‘How Did We Get Here?’ achievement as it provides five seconds more of nausea compared to the puffer fish's 15 seconds of nausea I and doesn't require hunger to consume.
