The Rift Walker teleports the player forward by eight blocks in any direction they face at the cost of two Ender Pearls per charge. The charge menu may be opened with left mouse button where Ender Pearls may be placed into. The charge menu is capable of holding upwards of nine stacks of Ender Pearls, or 144 Ender Pearls. This gives the Rift Walker upwards of 72 total charges before needing to be recharged. Using right mouse button will use a charge of the Rift Walker and can be used upwards of 8 times then requiring the player to land on the ground before it can be used again.
The Rift Walker belongs to the Haachama collection and does not have a prerequisite to unlock it's recipe. The Rift Walker does however have a somewhat expensive cost to craft requiring:
The Rift Walker, doesn't require a full charge to activate. It can be used as long as there's a minimum of two Ender Pearls in the charge menu.
The Rift Walker will notify you in chat of how many remaining Ender Pearls are left at certain intervals of 8 (e.g. 8, 16, 24, etc).
The Rift Walker cannot itself be moved into it's charge menu.
Putting other items into the menu is possible, but upon closing the menu they'll be returned into the player's inventory or drop onto the ground.
The Rift Walker if up against a wall or pointed at the ground will not teleport the player forward, but still consume the charge. Jumping and facing up at a ceiling will do the same thing.
The Rift Walker has a very serious issue where facing up and activating it under a two block high ceiling (right above the player's head) while on a ladder or in a corner will cause the rift walker to instead throw the player downwards through the ground.
This can in turn throw players below bedrock and into the void, caution is advised.
Unlike other items where the right mouse button function is overridden by an interactable block (e.g. doors and chest), the Rift Walker will not use the interactable block, and instead will teleport the player and use a charge.
If the Rift Walker is used during mid elytra flight, all current momentum will be lost.
The Rift Walker may be used to teleport upwards on the Y axis, but it does not grant fall damage immunity.
The Rift Walker while being a good mobility tool, is less cost efficient than normal ender pearls when it comes to over all distance require two ender pearls for only eight blocks. Due to this, it is not recommended for long distance travel.
Despite the Rift Walker having less possible total distance than ender pearls, it offers more control over where the player wishes to go. This makes vertical travel much easier to handle.
The Rift Walker doesn't have the same cool down restrictions as an ender pearls. This means the right mouse button may be held to use up all eight jumps or left mouse button may be pressed as fast as possible for even faster teleports.
Much like Ender Pearls, the Rift Walker can teleport the player through one block or smaller gaps they happen to come across.
Unlike the Ender Pearl where it must hit a block/entity to warp the player, the Rift Walker teleports the player immediately making it a possible better item when the player needs to escape immediately.
Despite the fact that the Rift Walker kills all momentum during elytra flight, it can be used to a player's advantage if they need to make a sudden stop for whatever reason.
